Supporting our Non-Profit Organizations

We are proud to support our Non-Profit Members!

Neighbour to Neighbour

For over 35 years, our team of dedicated staff and volunteers have been working to meet the issues of food insecurity and poverty head on. We do this by offering programs that our neighbours have identified as critical. Neighbour to Neighbour offers tutoring programs for children, food skills programs, family counselling, utility subsidy programs and access to emergency food. We create welcoming spaces where people gather to grow, cook, share, and advocate for good food.

Milton Community Resource Centere (MCRC)

Milton Community Resource Centre (MCRC) is a not-for-profit, multi-service and multi-site organization that provides services to children and families of Milton and the surrounding communities, as well as professionals who work in the field of Early Learning and Child Care.

We offer a wide range of early learning and child care programs, parent support programs as well as professional development and resources which reflect the needs within Milton and the broader Halton community.

Mission:
MCRC will empower all citizens of Halton’s diverse community by providing programs and supports that are high quality, inclusive, accessible, and affordable, aimed to address the impacts of poverty and inequity.

Programs:
MCRC Licensed Child Care Programs provide care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school age children. All licensed child care programs have enrolled in the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) system, making child care more affordable for families.

MCRC’s EarlyON Child and Family Centres offer free programs for caregivers and children from birth to 6 years old. You can learn and play with your child, meet people or get advice.

Our Family Fun Programs provide a positive learning environment that enables child initiated – adult supported play, and engages families in active, creative and meaningful experiences together. Led by trained Program Facilitators, they connect with children and families, plan and extend play in a way that engages the whole family.

The work of the Artists & Children Together (ACT) initiative is to build an understanding of the importance of art as a language. Using art as an expressive tool, ACT experiences inspire creativity and foster a sense of belonging, while building relationships.

The Halton Resource Connection (THRC) works in partnership with individuals and organizations who serve the interests of children and youth within the Halton community, providing curriculum resources, services, equipment, and professional learning which enhance the quality of care.

MCRC’s Empowerment Programs are designed to overcome barriers and meet the unique needs of families, girls, and women these services are free of charge, accessible and reach some of the most disenfranchised and marginalized members of our community.
  • The Infant Food Bank is dedicated to helping local families in need by providing a monthly supply of diapers, formula, baby food and cereal.
  • She Can! programs are girl centered, designed to empower and uplift girls in our community. These programs will foster strength, leadership and resilience through hands on activities and thought-provoking discussions.
  • The Period Power Initiative strives to address menstrual equity by providing a range of period products, including panty-liners, tampons, pads, and menstrual cups, through our Infant Food Bank.
MCRC’s Empowerment Programs rely heavily on fundraising events to ensure all citizens have fair and equitable access to services and supports that will boost their trajectory of success.

MCRC events also help to raise awareness of these vital programs and the impact we are making in the community for families and children.
